chronic illness & pain alone.
Mental Health Support for the Spoonies
Mental Health Support for the Spoonies, because living with chronic illness and pain is exhausting.
Hi, I’m Lindsey Mann, PLPC. I’m a mental health therapist who lives with chronic illness and pain. I’m here to help lighten the load, one spoonie to another.
I help you navigate the mental health landmines that come with living with chronic illness and pain to create a life you love.
Chronic Illness & Pain Affect More Than Just the Body
Ongoing anxiety about your health or the future – Struggling to plan because you never know what knew symptom your body will uncover.
If you’re like many of my clients, you may also be experiencing:
Unrelenting Grief – Being hit by wave after wave of grief with new losses every day.
Relationship strain – Struggling to balance asking for help, while also not wanting to be a burden.
Increased Isolation – Feeling like no one understands and slowly losing support over time.
Loss of self – Feeling like a shell of who you used to be, unsure how to get back to yourself.
Depression – Feeling numb, lost, and tired of carrying this heaviness.
Living with chronic illness and pain is exhausting, but you don’t have to carry it alone.
Spoonie Support, Right Where You Are
1 on 1 Virtual Therapy Session
You don’t have to leave home to feel supported. I offer online therapy across Missouri, provided through Ampersand Counseling Group.
You can show up just as you are, horizontal with a heating pad in tow!
$125 per session (50 minutes)
Private pay only (You’ll never have to fight insurance to ensure you receive support!)
How to Get Started:
Step 1: Start with a Discovery Call
We’ll begin with a free 15-minute consultation to talk about what you're experiencing and what you're looking for in therapy. This is a chance for us to get to know each other and see if I’m the right fit to support your journey.
If you’re ready to get started, we’ll schedule your first full session. These 50-minute virtual sessions are a safe, supportive space where we can explore what’s going on and begin working toward the change you want to see.
Step 2: Begin Your Personalized Therapy Sessions
Step 3: Experience Growth at Your Own Pace
Therapy is a process, not a quick fix—but with time and support, many clients begin to feel more grounded, resilient, and in control of their lives. We’ll regularly reflect on your progress and adjust our work to fit your needs as you grow.
FAQs

Your first full session is a time for us to explore what’s bringing you to therapy, talk through your goals, and begin building a safe, supportive space for healing. There’s no pressure—we move at your pace.
-
That’s exactly what the free discovery call is for. We’ll talk about what you’re looking for, and if it feels like a good fit, we’ll move forward. If not, I’m happy to refer you to someone who might be a better match.

I don't currently accept insurance. However, I offer self-pay at a rate of $125 per 50-minute session for individual therapy sessions and $150 for couples therapy sessions. I'm also happy to provide a superbill upon request, which you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Health Savings Account (HSA) cards are also accepted.

Most clients start with weekly sessions, but we’ll tailor the frequency based on your needs, goals, and availability.
-
Yes—many people find virtual therapy to be just as effective, and often more convenient. You can access support from the comfort of your home without the added stress of travel or time off.
-
That’s completely okay. You don’t need to come in with a plan—I’ll guide the conversation and help you explore what’s most important for you right now.
-
There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline. Some people see shifts in a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll regularly check in to make sure therapy is aligned with your goals.
-
That’s more common than you think, and it doesn’t mean you failed—or that therapy can’t help. Finding the right therapist and approach can make all the difference, and I’d love to offer a fresh start.
